looking for app based on status icon

im trying to find out what app is attached to a status icon. i really hope someone can help me. tineye and google image search have given me nothing at all. i have concerns and want to put them to rest. please help

Is it on the left or the right hand side? If it shows up on the right hand side it's part of the core system. If it's on the left which I'm guessing it is from your title, you should be able to pull down the bar and see the same icon beside a notification. Welcome to the Android Forums endofdays101. ive heard that suggestion as well but i cant see why they would have that app. its not on my phone so i cant check. i fear its a dating app

Open each app and see what they do.

touching the alert should bring up the app that pushed it to your phone.

I get stuff like that from Google Calendar, just had one a minute ago to remind me to get cleaned up and head for the doctor's office.
