Looking for contacts and calendar sync w/ outlook

Hi Guys,

Myself and my dad are new to Android. He has a Desire HD and I have a Nexus S. This question is from my dad as I haven't been able to find a good solution yet, and he is becoming annoyed at his new phone already.

From his PC, he uses outlook to manage his email, contacts and calendar. What he would like is a program that actively syncs the contacts and calendar entries. We've tried doing it through Gmail, but there aren't any good methods of moving contacts from outlook to Gmail apart from export --> csv --> import etc and moving them from Gmail to his Desire HD only works sometimes too.

So, what we need is a program that syncs contacts and calendars between outlook and his Desire HD.

We have found some programs that do this partially. The program hes found that has worked the best has been MyPhoneExplorer. Other programs seem to consistently duplicate contacts also.

M00_cow, have you tried using HTC Sync to resolve all or some of your issues? This thread seems to imply that it syncs with an Outlook (pop3) contact and calendar as well as the link to the details of HTC Sync

I have the Desire HD and use MyPhoneExplorer (Google it) to sync contacts and calendar between Outlook and phone. Client on the pc and app on the phone - all free.

Oh. the phone does come with HTC Sync (it's on the SD Card or download it) but I didn't find it worked for me.

Sure there is: gsyncit.
