Looking for Google Docs File Manager Android App

I tried the Dropbox App for Android and I like the interface (i.e. able to batch upload and download in the background), but they are too expensive compared to paid Google storage (Google is $20 per year for 80GB and Dropbox is $120 per year, $10 monthly or $100 all at once, for 50GB). I have found a basic file manager for Google Docs by using the Quickoffice app for Android, but this isn't a stand alone file manager. I know there are other online storage services out there, but I want to keep everything on the Google Skynet for price and ease of access without creating other account services. I don't need syncing between my hard drive and the cloud, just cheap and easy accessible cloud storage! I would even pay for the app! Does anyone know where I can find a great Google Docs file manager app?

I know this is an old thread, but surprised there haven't been any responses.

"Does anyone know where I can find a great Google Docs file manager app?"

Does this mean you have found some not good ones? I've only found two so far, the Google Docs app by Google and Android SMEStorage Cloud File Manager. The later is not free though so I haven't tried it.

It seems the Google Docs app only gives the ability to view and work within the Google Docs app... I don't see how to move the file to my Android.

What apps have you found that work? (I was really hoping ES File Explorer might have this functionality since it supports DropBox, but it doesn't seem to have support for Google Docs.)

Anyone have suggestions?

I have used the file manager function in Quickoffice, but it doesn't copy non-office type files (i.e. it only copies doc, xls, etc. file types and not mp3 or other file types). I have seen the SMEStorage Cloud File Manager also, but I haven't tried it yet. For Google Docs to allow any file type to be uploaded and downloaded, it seems weird that Android was forgotten about! Maybe I'll have to go with the SMEStorage...

Not sure if this will help, but I was able to create a word document in Google cloud. I can either send it to myself in a email or have access to it within the Quickoffice Pro app. I was able to save the cloud document to either the internal storage or SD card for off line use. I then could upload it to the cloud. So, as far as I can tell, it can be done. Store all your documents in the cloud for free.
