Looking for: periodic audio SMS notification

Hi all,

Almost completely happy with my HTC EVO LTE, except for one aspect that I'm extremely UNhappy with ...

Text messages cause the LED to blink, and notification sound. If I leave the room and don't hear the sound of a text message, I'm left to rely on the LED. The LED is minuscule, and unless I intentionally look for it, it's just way too small to notice when I'm busy at my desk.

What I want is what my OLD DUMB phone used to do perfectly, which is to repeat the notification sound every few minutes while I have unread SMS messages.

I've seen several apps that turn on the screen or whatever, but I really just want a periodic audio notification. Does this exist? No luck in finding one so far :(

I'm using Tasker for exactly this, among other things. I'm really baffled by the lack of such a simple feature on so-called smart phones.
 
Tasker is a great app that does a lot of different things and can certainly do what you want. But it is a little complicated and costs $6.49 (and I have never seen it on sale).

For free try this fantastic app. Light Flow free edition will allow you to customize your light color (hardware dependent), your light blink rate, your light duration, alert, alert frequency, vibration, etc. You can use this app for alerts for sms, mms, gmail, a specific contact, calendar, etc. From what you describe, this will do everything you need and it is not a trial.

The paid version will allow you to get alerts from a wider variety of programs.

On my Samsung Mega with Android 4.2.2 : Home > Messaging > Menu > Settings > Message Alert Repetition.
No need for another app.
