looking for prepaid alternative to vm

Vm and Sprint in general have poor coverage in our area and I'm getting sick of it. At&t seems to do the best in our area so I'm looking for a prepaid alternative on their network. T mobile is worse than Vm here. A straight talk rep showed me that their phones indicate on the box which network they use, but I can't find a list of devices anywhere. The straight talk website is practically useless.
I'm looking to upgrade two phones from the evo 3d (evo v 4g) to an at&t network, suggestions?

It appears Straight Talk is no longer selling AT&T SIMs and phones, at least from their website. It appears that Straight Talk's sister companies (Tracfone, Net 10, Simple Mobile) also are no longer selling AT&T SIMs and phones. You may be able to still find an AT&T Straight Talk phone at a local Walmart or on Walmart's website, but there likely won't be much selection.

If you don't need data everywhere, T-Mobile could still be an option as they have voice and text roaming through AT&T on prepaid. If you need data but don't need much out of T-Mobile areas, you might also look at Solavei since, while they are on the T-Mobile network, they have voice and data roaming.

The only other option I can think of is Page Plus, which uses Verizon's network. They do allow you to bring your own phones, unfortunately Virgin Mobile phones tend not to work on any other carrier (because of the ways Virgin locks the phones to their network).

T-Mobile still has the $30 plan although it's hard to find. You would have to order the SIM directly from the web site (check T-Mobile prepaid).

I use GrooveIP in conjunction with my 100 minutes. I also added to my balance for the times I go over (10 cents/min.; rolls over to the next month if you keep getting $30 top up cards).

Unfortunately, AT&T and any MVNO's it provides service to are on the most expensive side. The best deal I've seen was Red Pocket Mobile, with unlimited text and minutes, plus 2 GB of date at 60. At&t gophone's plan for smartphones is 65 for unlimited talk, text and 1 GB of data. I would bet AT&T charges a lot to access their network, and that is why StraightTalk discontinued their AT&T access.

H2o mobile is a decent mvno for ATT. Their $25 plan is nice because its any combination of voice or text or web. I used it for a while and was satisfied.
