Looking for some game advice

I feel a little lost.. With there being so many games out there, and with me not having tried any of them (other than angry birds), I just don't even know what to download and try...and my Android is only a week old!

I am looking for a turn based game that I can just check up on throughout the day, on and off. I don't want to have to buy points or tokens, and I don't want it to be based on how many friends or neighbours I have, like in Mafia Wars or Farmville (Though I did play a lot of Mafia Wars!). I LOVE Civilizations series, so if there is something like that? I keep hearing a lot about Pocket Empries...would that be along the same line?

Willing to try anything, I just don't have much of a starting point.

I realize this is quite open-ended, and a lot of people don't like such general questions, so apologies in advance.

Try Townsmen 6 free.
Pewpew is good for an arcade shooter.
And any Gameloft games are good from the Gameloft website

I agree, PewPew is awesome if you're into Geometry Wars type games - which I am.


Also, check the new web-based Market page. When you look up a game, the new "Users who viewed this also viewed" & "Users who installed this also installed" lists may help you find games you didn't know about.
