looking for time stamp function

Hi,
I am looking for a text editor app, with a time stamp function. So, while I am typing a text, I want to insert the current time. Like that [08.03].
Galaxy A7, Android 9.
Best regards, Stephan

Welcome to Android Forums, Stephan_Derrick!

I don't know how sophisticated a text editor you're looking for, but if it's pretty basic, this might work for you.

For on-the-fly notes, I use ColorNote. It does insert a timestamp, in the form of: MM/DD/YY 12:34 PM

That appears in the top right corner of the page and is not editable.

The thing is, it updates with each edit, replacing the previous timestamp with the current date and time.

It's a great little app that I use throughout the day. You might want to give it a try and see if it suits you.

Thank you. I tried it. Sure, it helps.

But I need time stamps within the text.

I do audio record a lecture and take notes the same time. Then, when listening the audio record, it would be very helpful to allocate each paragraph of my notes to the right moment.

Sorry, my English not so good.

Ahh, so this might be an off-the-mark interpretation but you're not asking for a text editor that can insert the current clock time but rather a text editor that will include the ability to auto-add in the minutes/seconds since the beginning of the recording itself. If that is what you're asking for that might be a bit more involved as typically that kind of functionality would be a part of a transcription app/service, not a text editor.
A work-around to this would involve you using a text editor to manually do the transcribing while listening to your recorded lectures through an audio editor app like this Auphonic Edit app. As you're typing you can manually add your time stamps while watching the playback visualization with the elapsed time at the bottom as a reference.

Just to clarify, are you trying to insert timestamps after each sentence or paragraph like in some desktop text editors? These usually do it with a menu option or shortcut key.

If this is what you want, have a look a Texpand. I have not used it, but in a screenshot I saw it looks like it may have timestamps.

Hi
Yes, this is, what I am searching for.
Thank you for Texpand app advice. I tried it and
The phrase text expander works well.
But they is a hour-timestamp only, no minutes, no seconds. And therefore useless for my purpose.
Open for more suggestions.
