Looking for: To do list, app dock

Phenomenological

Android Expert
I'd like some help locating a couple of apps - I can't seem to find any I get along with.

Firstly, I'd like a to do list. A plain, simple to do list, with no complex features - All I want to do is type in a quick note and hit a save button. I don't need dates, times, reminders, alarms, anything like that (Read: Not astrid). Also, I'd really like it to have a nice large widget (For use on an HTC sense homescreen). Anyone used anything that might come close?

Also, I'd quite like something along the lines of Ultimatefaves, but with widget support and better graphics. Folders seem a bit out of place on the HTC interface really so I'd like a more elegant replacement. Is there such an application or am I stuck waiting for the developer of Ultimatefaves to make the app worth using?

Thanks

I suggest you look at 3Banana Notes:
3banana Notes v1.18 Application for Android | Productivity
It is dead simple to use, but with powerful features like:
- syncs with snaptic.com
- labels/tags to organize notes
- embeds urls to link to web pages
- widget for quick note entry

As for a dock, you could look at some home replacements:

I have used Open Home, it has a nice flyout app dock:

I use "ourgroceries" for my todo list. Its a simple list app. It was designed as a grocery list app, but you can create any list you like on it. I created about 10 lists on it. One for nearly all the stores my wife and I go to in the area as well as my todo list and my wifes todo list. You can sync all your lists to as many other phones as you wish. Unfortunately, I see my todo list grow throughout the day from my wife adding things on it from her phone.

lol - yeah, I don't think I'll be putting that on our phones. My wife can find plenty of ways to put things on my 'to-do' list without having that bit of technology available to her...

How about GTasks - GTasks for Android ?

Pretty simple, nice widget too.

Thanks, had a look but the widget is still an irritating size - Why can't developers offer a range of sizes? I've seen it done on a few apps but not enough.

Had a look at 3 Banana Notes before, would have been great but couldn't find any simple way for it to actually display your notes. Just stored them and you have to chick into the app to read them - I need them visible without having to leave the homepage.

Had a look at it, but it doesn't seem to have a widget available, which is a shame because otherwise it seemed ideal.

You don't have to use all the alarms, reminders and other features of the Astrid To Do List. I just type a one line task, click the + button to add it and then in my case I like to select red, orange or blue to select the priority as high, normal or low and I am done. Plus with the touch of a virtual button, Astrid can manually sync over the air with RememberTheMilk.com which in turn can auto-sync with Outlook on your pc or desktop. There is no widget, but I keep an Astrid icon on my desktop along with my other main apps like contacts, messages, calendar etc, so one click brings up my task list.

Phenomenological, if you'd like a widget that displays your tasks, then RTM may be for you. It lets you set the size of the widget, and which list to display.
