Root Looking to root my proclaim

Maybe you can possibly send a PM to Shabby Penquin he is pretty well know for being able to make a nice one click-root for these Samsung phones.

I would be willing to Donate for a one click root, or complete guide to self root my Samsung Galaxy Proclaim S720C. So I can install better security software, like a firewall, and complete backup solution.

I am trying to decide if I want to try to fix my samsung galaxy s captivate or to just buy one of these phones, but I am limited technology wise in my area and this is the only prepaid phone that works in this area on our towers for the cheapest service price.. If it can be rooted, I'd be happy to purchase one, and my only other desire to know about this phone is if it allows non-market apps? I've read some reviews and it doesn't seem anyone can answer my questions about it.. I don't wanna drop $180.00 for a phone and $50.00 more for service if the thing don't meet up to my simplest desires for a phone, hell if it can run order and chaos and also allow non-market apps, play video via netflix and such, I'd be a happy droid man!

And possibly remove the spaces ;)

anyways uhh the proclaim is rooted..... was hoping to have a more stable way of doing it but initial testing seems rather bleak. so i suggest everyone read up on odin and learn how to flash :)

Nice to see you all moving along with the proclaim.

Shabby is the man! More root fun from an old school master :)

lol had no idea the phone even existed, our tester djgru knew the hit squad from the lg connect and asked about the illusion, that's when we found out it had been out for 7+ months without being rooted. so we started to work on that and then found out about the proclaim. we have it rooted but the kernel is unstable and we have been trying to get that working before getting cwm working.

normally we do root and cwm and let the communities blossom offering advice on roms/kernels and we only step in and do the stuff ourselves if we have the device. unfortunately for proclaim owners ive already gotten a tip off on the arenarom guys "working" on the proclaim. due to the past history of them i hold no interest in this device, with that said we will continue to try and get cwm just for the sake of doing it and we will move on. hopefully someone takes interest in teh illusion and you guys can port.. something.. over..

I am trying to help a guy who through the best of my knowledge flashed the wrong Odin file for his proclaim. I use HTC devices so I am not knowledgeable about where to find stock images for Samsung phones. If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately I am helping him over the phone so troubleshooting has been slightly tedious. From the information I have gathered it seems he tried to flash an unstable kernel and now gets a firmware upgrade error while trying to boot up. I am guessing whatever he flashed was not for this phone.
Long story short, anyone have access to a stock image?

So am I reading this correctly that root for Proclaim is not looking too good? I hope not... new to the smartphone market and want to get rid of all this darn bloatware :)

Hey guys, I bricked my last android and just bought a Proclaim. I mistakenly deleted these two system apps without backing them up
> Live Wallpapers Picker and My Files

Was hoping some kind fellow would upload them since I have searched for the last 4 hours with no luck.. Already rooted.
