Help Loose charging cord?

Austin D031

Hello everyone, I have an issue that I thought I would bring up. Any help is appreciated.

For Christmas, I got the LG V10. And I must say, snappiest, smoothest phone I've ever used. But there's an issue.

When I plug it in to charge, the cord is SLIGHTLY loose, it's not severe to the point where I have to put anything under it or anything. But like maybe a milimeter or 2 it's hanging out the right or left side if it's at an angle. Is this normal? And should I be worrying?

The second issue, I'm not sure if it's something to worry about. This phone charges VERY quickly. Except for when I'm using it. If I'm on social media listening to music, and texting people, the phone gets warm, but not hot. Is that preventing it from chsrging faster. The heat? When this happens, takes about an hour OR MORE to get from 53% to 100%. That is not Qualcomm quick charging. Is it because of the port?

Please help with these two issues as I am worried. Thank you.

I was in a O'Reilly's auto store a few days ago, and they have a super heavy duty cord there that is 6 feet long, it has a woven cloth exterior on it, and the plugs are Gold plated. it has a muted orangish/brownish pattern to it. disappears on most car cloth interiors.

I bought it, and it fits my phones, all of them, tighter than any OEM cord ever has.

It has the USB plug on one end to fit the OEM power wall warts, and the mini-usb for the phone charge port.

I have the same phone as you,& I cannot comment on the cord issue,as I've left it unused (the one that came with the phone) & am using perfectly fine cords & chargers from some recent phones I've purchased.

However,as for the heat issues, yes, using it while charging will generate more heat, which in turn slows down the charging process, which,in turn creates more heat,a vicious cycle that can be broken by either unplugging while using or,leaving the phone alone while charging.
I highly recommend getting a spare battery kit:

As for the quick charging, this is normal, something most mfgs are making standard for their top-of-the-line models.

The post above this by KOLIO explains this perfectly.

Some of my old phone would get VERY hot when using some apps while charging at the same time, and my Note Edge would get so hot I feared the rear cover would get soft or melt when using WAZE for extended drives - during this time it would also loose a percent or two of power.

That's not an issue with this phone, as even with the same low-dose charger I've had in the car for all the other phones, I can use WAZE and even take a call or two and it'll only get warm (slightly) and it still gains a percent or three of power over an hours drive, so whatever you're experiencing with warming and slow charging ratios is organic to the phone's design.

Hope this helps.

Okay thank you. You guys really helped with that. But what about my cord? I'm using the standard fast charger that came with my V10. As it's plugged in, it'll hang out the port very very little and like I can move it right to left while it's plugged in. There's no "snug fit". Is this something to be concerned about?

Sorry, I forgot to post to that side of your post ... but I won't be able to help you with that as every cord I use (and I've random cords all over the house, office and car), plugs in and seems as tight and proper as it should.

But you're not alone. There have been a few others who've said the same thing.

I seem to have a V10 that was built on a good day as there are absolutely zero issues with my V10 - from exterior build quality with seams and edges all lining up perfectly, to the back cover fitting with precision, to the Micro USB receptacle giving a perfect fit to any cord and I bought mine at a regular Verizon store.

If you're not comfortable with it, then take it back to the store and have them exchange it.

Good luck.
