Losing Access to Custom Ringtones

Is it possible to store custom ringtones on the device itself (nexus one) rather than on the sd card? t5hat would eliminate the problems resulting from a mounted sd card. when I have the sd card mounted and someone with a custom ringtone calls I don't get any ring at all. Ideas? Thanks.

Well that's odd. It should still make a beeping sound when it rings. If it can't find the ringtone (like when its mounted). Or maybe that might be just on my phone.

I believe its possible to do if your rooted. Never done it personally though.
