Help Lost 3g connectivity on galaxy s3 after factory data reset?

manu51uk

Lurker
I had problems with USB connection in my galaxy s3 and i used factory data reset. It only warns for application and data losses and now I cant get connected to the 3G network (only GPRS). Does anyone have a solution?

I would check with your carrier to find out what the appropriate APN settings should be for their network. Rooting shouldn't matter in this case.

Have you first of all checked APN settings and made sure you have an APN set up? Lack of one is usually the reason for no connectivity.

Settings>More settings>Mobile networks>Access Point Names

I didnt have APN settings set up the first time. It was working with the default APN settings on the phone. It's the international version (not carrier locked) and the carrier here only have APN settings for the GPRS. I dont want it to switch to GPRS. It's not finding the 3G network. Do you guys think re-installing the firmware can help?

Have you checked APNs or not?

Also, make sure that it is set up to use WCDMA only.

Got APN settings from the network provider and manually setting up APN settings worked. Have no idea how it worked with out it in the first place. Thanks alot guys.
