Hi again,
apologies for creating another thread on this subject but for some reason the fourm is telling me that I have insufficient privileges to reply to my original post.
To recap, the graphical icon for my 'phone application disappeared, leaving with a fully functioning application with just a title "phone" displayed.
After trying to delve into every nook and cranny of every menu I could find, I finally remembered that salutory advice from the IT Crowd "...have you tried turning it on and off again?..." Sure enough, this simplest of solutions (hitting 'Restart') worked and the icon graphics are restored.
Apologies for setting hares running and that it appears to have been such a ludicrously simple thing to fix!
