Lost contact custom notifications

My S7 updated today and I now lost the option to have custom message sounds for my contacts. The option is there for the ringtone but not the messages anymore. Did the update move the location where to find it?

That feature was a Samsung feature. With Oreo, Android changed how notifications were handled, so it broke that feature. Samsung has recently released an update to the Messaging app to v5.0.21.18 to add the feature to have custom notifications on a per thread basis. You have to update to that via the Galaxy App Store, or get a different SMS app like Textra.
