Lost contacts - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

My S7 Edge just updated but my contacts stopped at the C's.
Im misding over 300 contacts!!??

Im not sure how to use recovery software, i didn't know that was a thing, lol

Were you using internal contacts or google contacts? (or do you know)

If your gmail account is being used, your contacts are synchronized in your gmail account. Maybe you can restore your contacts from it. And if you don't have backup, you can google for an data recovery tool.
