Help lost data

[Android Question]

I had my 3rd replacement HTC M8 one on monday before they agreed to give me the new replacement i had to do a reboot on my old phone to see if it would Fix the camera problems which it didnt.my last replacement was october 2014 and i picked that date to back up from thinking it would give me all my data from then but Ive lost all my data from October everything on my new phone is messages and calls from last august 2014 If i download Android data recovery Will i be able to get back my messages contacts etç.Or is everything lost because its a new phone? I would really apreciate any help. Thankyou

Hi thank you so much for your reply. So sorry for rubbishness but Im not sure if it was through googlemail or HTC back up. When i got the 2 nd replacement phone in October Im sure i downloaded a app to save all messages as was worried i would lose messages again if i had to have replacement again , which u did monday but i cant seen to find that either.Thank you for your help
