Help lost HTC One - restore pics?

Hey guys,

I've been on holiday for six weeks in the Philippines and Indonesia, and have been taking pictures the whole time on my HTC One. I dropped it in a river (in a waterproof case) but I won't be finding it.

I got the phone in February and it's my first Android device. I was wondering if there is anything like icloud that backs up or stores the pictures wirelessly? Or if you know any other way to retrieve them? Will they be restored if I get a new android?

Let me know. Any input is truly appreciated.

Did you setup any kind of backup before you lost the phone, like Google Drive? If so, your pics should be on Google.

Yeah, there are lots of apps which can do this - as Mike says, Google Drive, Dropbox, whatever the Google photo app is currently called (I don't have it installed), and many others. But only if you actually set it up or enable it - which is the right way for it to work, as I'd be very annoyed if one of these things were scooping up all of my photos without my knowledge or consent.

The other factor is whether you were connecting to the Internet so such a thing could sync if enabled.
