Lost my 'Settings' app

Hi all,

I installed a lock app to hide certain apps, was testing it on a couple of apps including 'settings' so people couldn't change things by mistake. Problem is, I then removed 'settings' from the hidden apps list and it won't show up under all apllications anymore.

Is there any way to get it back?

The other app that was hidden now shows up ok, just the settings one that won't.

Tried uninstalling the lock app, still no use. This is on a Galaxy S.

Any help much appreciated.

What happens if you press menu on the launcher screen and chose settings?

Nothing. I also had a shortcut via Elixir widget, thats lost it's icon and does nothing when pressed.

I can only access accounts & sync as I had a seperate shortcut to it, and manage applications via a seperate shortcut.

This is more an act of desperation than anything else, but here's a backup of the Settings application on my system (2.3.4)... maybe it'll work:
http://www.tapper-ware.net/data/release/Settings_2.3.4.apk

That's much appreciated. I have just this minute done a restore from a backup made a few weeks ago. Although that didn't quite go as planned as it gave an error through Clockwork Mod and wouldn't restore. Then found in acvanced restore an option to restore data only, that worked.

So all is working again, just lost a few items from last few weeks.

Many thanks though for taking the time to upload the file.
