Help Lost Samsung Keyboard "Long-Press" Symbols On Keys

Samsung Galaxy S7
SM-G930v
Rooted/Xposed

-------

For as long as I can remember, my default Samsung keyboard has had long-press symbols on the alpha keys as shown in this example image:

Recently, I have had to do a factory reset/wipe several times, each time flashing the OS/root and Xposed, and each time something going wrong and having to do it over. This time everything seems stable and working but I noticed my keyboard no longer has the long-press symbols, which just seems like a strangely random thing to have happened. (incidentally, even though I kept flashing the device with the same firmware files and using the same procedures, I wouldn't always get the same results. One time in particular I noticed some bloatware apps that weren't there before and were again absent in future resets/wipes. Not sure what that's about...)

Anyway, I seem to recall there used to be an option in the keyboard settings to display these symbols on the keys but I can no longer find any such option.

I've been messing with the /system/csc/feature.xml file as suggested by some discussions I've found online but so far it hasn't seemed to have an effect.

Any thoughts?

Oh, and before anybody suggests using Swiftkey instead, I already tried it and I hate it. I'd like to get my Samsung keyboard working as it did rather than replace it with another.

Guess nobody wanted to help me on this one.

I decided to go with the Google Keyboard. So far it seems to have all of the features I need and more.
