Lots of 1X in NorCal recently. 4g coming?

I'm in Santa Rosa, about 60 miles north of SF, and my data connection is almost consistently 1X in former 3G areas. I thought it might be the TB upgrade doing bad things, but I also read that 4g is coming to "northern California" on 6/16.

I can't find anything specific on cities for the 6/16 launch, but I'm wondering if this data behavior (1X in 3G areas) is a sign that they are playing in the area and that I might have 4g soon.

Did anyone experience this behavior in the runup to a 4g roll out?

I live in NorCal too, and have experienced this too.

I'm a moron, apparently. I was in SF and switched to LTE/CDMA and forgot to switch back. That setting, it seems, doesn't like 3G here.

Cl8rs, you are close to 4g. Hope you get it soon.

The Ally doesn't get 4G, so it really doesn't matter lol.
