lots of duplicate contacts

I have set up my Galaxy S4 using Kais and i have lots of duplicate contacts, my outlook has 191 but on Galaxy i now have 800+ what has happened, for every contact i have about 10 duplicates !!!


Any help

how do we get rid of the duplicates though if we don't want another app?
how come when I tried to delete one of the contacts it tells me I'm deleting them all for that person. And now I have deleted someones' address:( I'm not liking this. I don't want Facebook attached to my contacts. They are suppose to be mine and I don't want people in my contacts I 'm just *acquainted* with on Facebook. Why does google have to want everything attached to Facebook.? It's not a drivers license for everything. :mad:

I dont have my facebook contacts synced to my phone at all, so its not that that is causing the problem.

Even if i do use an app all it does is merge contacts, therefore theoretically just hiding all the dups they will still be on my phone and taking up space.

I now have on my phone 2535 contacts, this is getting ridiculous !!! samsung dont seem to want to help, EE say they cant help what is going on. Surely someone must know what is happening. PLEASE:confused:

I don't know, maybe because I posted in it and the upper posters thought it as solved. I know I didn't like it when it did this to me either. I think we need to option to say to keep photos or contact we want to merge instead of having to and delete one by one. I was and still am annoyed when I saw all those facebeook not friends in my phone. I don't think it's fair to them either to have everyone have their email account unless it was given.. So, it's really not good to do this to people.
