Low minute family plans

I really want to get a Droid, but I can't find a family plan on Verizon that gives me what I need. My wife and I currently have AT&T 550 minutes, she has a $5 texting add on and I have nothing. The thing is, we don't even come close to using all those minutes (we mostly call each other), and do very minimal texting. Verizon's smallest family plan is 700 minutes, which is way more than we'll ever need, and I don't want to pay extra for wasted minutes. Does anyone know of a workaround, or a plan that Verizon offers but doesn't advertise that might fit?

Yep, VZW offers a 550 minute family share plan. It's not advertised, but is available. You could also stick with your wife having a $5 text plan, that would give her 250 text/picture messages per month.

I thought there probably was, but I've yet to talk to anyone either at a store or on the sales line who knew about it. How to I get them to give it to me if the sales reps don't even know about it?

It's considered a "loyalty" or "save" plan... you have to be a customer for at least a year and mention the possibility of leaving. Not sure if you could find a cs rep that would be willing to let you have it anyway.

As an alternative... any other family members you can add on to share your minutes/costs? I added my mother and step-father on my plan to make it worth while to bump us up to 1400 minutes so we could have friends & family :D
