Help Low volume with incompatible headphones

I recently upgraded my phone going from an iPhone to Samsung not realising that my headphones are not compatible with android.

Samsung S8 (Android Oreo)
Bowers and Wilkins P7

The headphones are extremely quiet with the phone. I think this may because the inline remote does not work on the headphones due to the fact that the software is incompatible. On full volume I can hear people talking, and these are very good noise cancelling headphones, and this didn't happen with my previous phone.

If I buy another inline remote to attach to the aux cable would this work? Or is the only option to root the phone and increase the maximum volume? I would like to avoid this if possible. I have tried a few volume boosting apps but these have made no difference.

I bought the headphones for my commute as I can't stand the noise on the tube and these it blocked it out. They were not cheap and its too late to return either product. If anyone can help I'd be extremely grateful!

From what I can find on the internet, I see that yes the inline is not Android compatible. Although I am not sure if you can find an inline that is both compatible with Android and the headset. Personally best bet is to just use a straight cable with no remote, then a smartwatch for the phone/music controls.

Also, you could look into the Samsung Adapt Sound feature where you listen to different beeps. This will boost the volume of the frequencies you don't hear through the headset you are currently using.

Thank you! I didn't know about the Adapt Sound feature. I am going to check it out because playing Spotify and other music is not loud enough on my S8+. I have to use my V20 or even my Zmax Pro to listen to music.

EDIT: what a difference the adapt sound made. My S8+ w/my new headphones sounds just great. Now I'll be deaf in a year LOL.

Thanks again, Chanchan!

You've got audiophile, high-end,, high-impedance headphones. Sometimes these types do need quite a bit of power to give adequate volume. So I don't think it's really "my headphones are not compatible with android", it's more like Wilkins P7 are not so compatible with Samsung Galaxy S8. Evidently your iPhone was better in this respect. I'm sure we've had posts before, about inadequate volume from Samsung S8 when using big headphones.

Possibly you could use an outboard amp, that should boost the power and volume to an adequate level to drive the Wilkins.
