Loyalty Credit vs NE2 ... or are they the same?

Got a card in the mail with "GET $30 Loyalty Credit TOWARD ANY PHONE" with "Applies to mobile number ending in XXXX" at the top... the line in question has a remaining $30 NE2 credit available to it. I know that some people with a remaining $50 NE2, got a similar card that says $50.

Anyone know if this is just a reminder of my NE2, by another name, or is it another $30 that I can apply whenever the Nexus is released?

I pretty sure it means your line has a $30 off your next upgrade. I also believe verizon has phased this out. Only those who signed a contract while the old system was in place get this discount.
