M8s+ unroot

SherazS2

Newbie
Hi there everyone, I just bought m8s+ but it is already rooted and i want to unroot to get official updates, actually not interested in rooting devices. Any easy way to unroot? Another problem is that Miracast is not working just keep getting "discovery failed2" error.
Is there any way to proper shutdown this device? I used reboot app but all it does only reboot even clicking on shutdown.
Thanks.

miracast still not working...

More info needed. Not every Android phone supports Miracast.
For example, Samsung phones have their own crappy version of screen mirroring.

What phones are you using,
...what versions of Android are your devices using?
...is the Miracast/Wireless Display feature turned on and working?
(Settings > Advanced...)
...is the TV or Android box connected to the internet
(Try disconnecting it - Miracast doesn't need an internet connection.)
...Does the Miracast feature detect devices and just not connect?

Anything you can give us...

There are non-rooted, bootloader configurations you could mess around with but that's above my limited knowledge!

I am using Samsung galaxy s5 ver 6.0.1 and Android tv has 5.1 lollilop. Yes miracast connected and on Android device it ask to accept but when i accept then it connects for a second and then error "Discoveryfailed2" comes up.

Nothing works well it's ok and thanks for your support.
My Android tv box support 32gb max well can i use 64 or 128gb sd card too? I saw some youtube videos and they are using 64gb sd card on android phone and that phone support 32gb only.

Is this m8s+ stuck with the current 5.1 lollilop firmware? I mean will there be any new update for this deivce going to ever release.

will there be any new update for this device...

Almost certainly not, at least not by the OTA way.
Thes boxes aren't noted for their support teams' ongoing dedication to customer satisfaction! ;)

You could try to update the device yourself... but that's a bad idea

First of all, why would you? Android 5.1 is a stable and reliable platform.
Secondly, you'll almost certainly brick your device if you try!

I saw some other devices with 6.0 and you can make usb drive as internal on that 6.0 firmware.

I have yet to see if the "adopted memory" function on Android TV version 6/7 works. I hope it does.
If you have some links confirming your claim I'd be very interested in reading them, thanks! :)

Are you sure it works on USB drives as well as SD cards?

Now THAT'S interesting. (The link, not the video.)

I'd be wary of attaching a USB drive as 'adopted memory' because it has to be plugged in all the time.
But I'd have no problems buying an ultra-fast 32 GB SD card for that purpose.

Still waiting for confirmation that this option is available on the generic Chinese Android TV boxes running Android 6...

I guess marshmallows has adopted memory, please checkout attachment. Let me quote here too.
"Its's not as great as marshmallow's adopted memory"

This is only for rooted phones and it's a very unstable app, so on an Android TV box, it would be VERY unstable!

Hold out for the real thing!
It's free, it works and hopefully Android TV boxes with Marshmallow will support this function, too!

I was only only quoting from Link2sd app.

I would like to know the name of brands which supports OTA and price must be below $100. Thanks.

I would like to know the name of brands which supports OTA...

That's easy... here's the list of Chinese-made, imported, cheap Android TV boxes that feature regular and reliable OTAs...

Walmart $69 - Xiaomi Mi 4K TV Box

Anything else we can help you with? :)
