Magic update ruining notifications?

Anyone notice how the notification system on the updated Magic is totally useless now?
It doesn't blink the led for texts, just the trackball AND it only blinks for a short amount of time at an EXTREMELY slow rate. Also, for non-gmail email there is no LED.
There seems to be only an LED for gmail email... wtf @ this.
I know you can get apps for this but... why fix what wasn't even broken???

I don't have any issues with the LED...

Just try going into the settings on the apps that you want to see the led flashing on and turn the option on.
 
OK well my Magic must be FUBAR'D because the LED does not blink for texts... the trackball just flashes for a few minutes...

Are you seriously ******ed or just ******ed? Did you follow the instructions or not? And did they work for you? Say that so I can know you did read the post. As to the Dream, it's the ultimate Developer's phone in case you don't know.
 
Guys, my bad, no need to fight about it. I guess that the SMS app that comes with sense UI is integrated to only use the flash on the track ball. You can download handcent sms from the market and it will do a much better job for you.
