Mail Icon Stuck on 1 email unread (but I've read them all)

jaymond

Lurker
Here's the problem. There is a green circle with a 1 in it (indicating I have one unread email). When I go to the inbox, there is an old email that appears unread. However, I cannot open the email in order to read it. When I hold down on it to bring up a menu and select "delete" or"mark read", the application says "Sorry! The application Mail (process com.htc.android.mail) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." Then I have to select "Force close."

No matter what I do, I cannot get rid of that green notification circle, and it is driving me crazy!! (I obviously have some OCD). Any ideas?????

I find that accessing the mail from the Mail Alert, rather than from the Mail App itself has the effect of always removing the notification. Accessing the email app sometimes does not remove the (1) notification for me.

Cheers,
Sombre.
