Mail unread count without HTC Sense

Hi Guys,

I'm on a HTC Hero with 2.1 Vilain ROM. I've switched from the HTC sense launcher to Helix Launcher because of the RAM savings.

However, there is 1 major thing that is missing...I cant use the Sense widgets anymore so I cant get a HTC Mail widget which tells me how many unread mails I have!!!

I've been searching high and low and im shocked no one has made a widget that can do what the HTC widget can and display the unread count.

The notification bar tells me when I have new mails but once I open the mail program (but dont open the emails) the notification goes away!! :X

I just need a way of knowing how many unread mails I have...


Any suggestions? Or do i have to go back to HTC sense

For *Email* or for *Gmail*?

For Gmail there is "Gmail Unread Count" in the Market. A widget shows you the number of unread messages in your Gmail inbox. Not sure about anything like that for Email though.
