Help Maintenance on S 5

Is there any maintenance I need to do? Anything regarding anti-viruses programs, defragging, anything else? Yea, it's my first smart phone after a history of 45+ years on computers.

Most of the phones should come with an anti-virus program installed on them.

Verizon uses McAfee which seems to do a good job, I just prefer "Clean Master" as it offers a whole toolbox full of things you can take advantage of.

Click here => Clean Master

You can disable anything you don't want that came with the phone.

You never have to do any defragging, because that's only something that applies to spinning mechanical hard drives.

Other thing is there are not any true viruses or worms on Android, not in the same way they work on Windows. There are malicious apps out there, so be careful about what you might be installing and where they're coming from. Google and Amazon should be OK though, and try to avoid installing pirated warez and stuff from Chinese app stores.

Under "Security" in your settings, keep the "Unknown Sources" box unchecked and check the box that says"verify apps" (your phone was defaulted this way when you got it)... And you'll be fine. I've never worried about anti-virus and 4 years on android with zero issues.
