Make a photo fit on ONE home screen

Hello everyone,

I've had my moto droid since christmas and am loving it! I used droidmod to root, and have gotten pretty much everything operating the way i want. The only problem I'm having is I would like to have my central home screen(the one the firmware navigates to when pressing home) to have my wallpaper image fit that entire screen. I do not enjoy scrolling thru my 5 home screens to see the image. I have no problems with a black border being inserted around it, but cannot find the dimensions anywhere to photoshop my pictures to a ratio. Can anyone help?

Regards,

Tommy

I've got 7 homescreens on the Hero and the default Android background seemed limiting. So in another thread, someone said to try an app called 'Wallpaper Plus' ($2) from the market. It allows you to set wallpaper without cropping, and set individual image for each Home screen by stitching multiple images together. I tried an older version of it in the android SDK emulator which is running Pandahome with 7 homescreens and it worked. I haven't tried it on my Hero yet since I'm waiting for the 2.1 update before I start buying anything.

Tried it... no good :(

Anybody out there with photoshop experience to help?

I don't have a Droid, but according to the tech specs, the Droid has a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. So the homescreen should be that size. In Photoshop, create a new file and set the pixels accordingly. If Photoshop is set to inches or any other measurement, make sure you change it to pixels (obviously).

Then just copy/paste whatever picture you want as your background and edit to fit.
