Make calls over wi-fi using Mobile VOIP for free

Hello,
I would like to know how to make wi-fi calls using mobile voip. I have a sprint phone with no sprint service whatsoever.
I know that Mobile VOIP says you have to choose a "VOIP brand" but I don't know which one to choose. if I choose a brand will I have receive a phone number?
Are there any RECENT tutorials? because all of the tutorials I have seen online are no longer applicable because systems have been changed.
 
Carriers illegally use 'Deep Packet Inspection' to detect if you use VoIP from your phone. When they find you do they 'throttle' your connection, making VoIP calling impossible. So that you have to make your long distance calls over their bloody expensive mobile networks!

It's of course different for VoIP from a regular PC over a regular internet connection.
 
groove ip is the best. use it with a Google voice number
