Root Make Swap with sdcard?

I am posting this to ask can someone help or tell me if i have made a swap properly.

I installed link2sd
then swapper for root

Then i enabled root in both, after that i went into swapper and let it make a 3gb swap file on my sdcard. It finished and i rebooted and it seems like it worked however i dont know how to check if it did.

The file is there however should i have made another partition on my sdcard? Specifically for the swap i mean.

In a terminal the command 'free' (no quotes) will show your phones system RAM usage and swap usage. As long as any values in the swap line are above 0 (zero) it's working.

I'm on tesla rom and have not enabled swap of any kind, yet free shows that swap is enabled! Is swap built in to tesla does anyone know?
It's on by default in all ROMs. Don't worry, it does not take space from any of your memories, it uses a portion of memory which was predefined by LG (512MB).
