Help Managing files in Windows Explorer takes forever

When I try to manage files on my phone, connected to my computer via USB as a media device, I can usually manage 1 file, either delete or move to a different folder for organization. After that, any further attempts at moving or deleting a file will stall. I will have a progress bar, but it is the generic one that shows no actual progress. Once this happens I have waited for upwards of 20 minutes in an attempt to move a 97kb PDF file.

I am running Windows 7 x64, have a Nexus 5 connected via USB2.

Has anyone encountered this issue before, and resolved it? The Oracle that is google has not been forthcoming for me so far.

Attempted fixes
Restart device - Can do one file operation before I have to then restart it. Occasionally does not even let me do the one.
SDFix - No change in behavior
New USB Cable - Same issue

Looks like X-Plore is working fine, and while it is not quite as convenient as a mouse, at least it is working.

Thanks for the heads up on that, though if anyone else has any ideas, I would like to still try to get this working with Windows.

I'm not expert on the Nexus or Windows but I think that you just proved it's something on the Windows side and not your phone.

Best luck, hope you get it sorted! :)
