Help manual proxy

Greetings. I have not been able to set a manual proxy on any android os except os 6.0 and below. I have read and attempted the generic manual proxy setup instructions from the manual's to no avail. There is no "edit" wifi button to hit as described. I am using both my own cell phones and genymotion. I have been able to set up the manual proxy with the "long press" wifi button on genymotion but only os 6.0 and below.

long pressing the wifi connection brings up a password field that does nothing to configure the proxy settings

ok if anyone else has this problem: to set manual proxy for android 0s 7 and above => hit advanced options WITHOUT entering a passwod. this will open the advanced options tab for configuration.
