MAPS - Cannot lock onto location like google maps on BlackBerry

Those of you who switched from BlackBerry, using Google Maps to navigate, to the new G1 might remember on your BlackBerry how when you pressed "0" to find your location it would lock onto it, keeping your location centered on the map and would move with you.

I cannot find this on the G1... I have to constantly go to 'My Location' over and over OR keep swiping around until I find my magic blue dot.

Can anyone else confirm this or tell me what I'm doing wrong?

I'm having the same problem... it cannot lock on like the blackberry did.. for some reason it has to wait for the gps.. which takes longer for some reason

Haven't had a problem. As long as GPS is on, I pressed my location once, and then watched as the map followed me around. I don't think it kept me centered exactly the whole time, but didn't have an issue once the GPS found us.

Well, it's not going to scroll with the dot, but it will reposition the map once the dot reaches the edge of the screen, which is pretty much the same thing.

Here's what you do: while in Maps, press the Menu button and click "My Location." It will center in on your location. To keep the map following the blue dot, touch the blue dot and choose "zoom in on my location."

That did it for me
