Maps Compass not right - "GPS Status & Toolbox" dead-on

Google Maps compass generally point in the right direction, but is a 70 degree "spray" pattern. I have tried the Google Maps compass calibration figure-8 motion several times, with no luck. I have downloaded "GPS Status & Toolbox" from Play, and the compass within is perfect, or close to it as far as I can tell. I have also downloaded "Compass 360 Pro" and it agrees with "GPS Status & Toolbox".

Any ideas?

you can fix it also, mouse over the headers at the top of the thread.

I never try to use the Compass in Google Maps, if I want a compass, I use GPS Tools & Status and also a good compass app.
