Maps Shortcut?

I have a shortcut I made for Google Maps, the icon is blue with a car. When I touch it it gives me maps directions to my home from wherever I am. I can not remember HOW to make a new one since the current one uses nav and I just want directions?
Previously, you could hold down on the screen and create a shortcut to give directions or navigation to any address from where you were now I can't seem to figure out how to do it.
There is no widget and I don't see how to make a shortcut in 4.4.
It's probably something obvious and super easy...grr.

Looks like it was changed from the old "long press" method. (Just checked my lady's Moto X on 4.4.4).
Head into the app drawer, click on widgets at the top and scroll over to Maps/Directions and create your shortcut from there.

It's called "Directions" in the widget section of the app drawer.

I find I don't need a widget for home, when I'm away from home Google Now has a card giving me the time to get home. Touching that card acts like a widget.
