MapServiceSamsung question

That's my theory out of the window then 
I did read somewhere about a link between restoring sms's and mapservicesamsung.
Are you rooted or able to freeze/disable mapservicesamsung?
If not rooted, try force closing it in manage applications and see how the battery goes. mapservicesamsung shouldn't restart unless bluetooth is turned on or you restart your phone.
That may only be a temporary fix though but see if it helps. If it continues to cause a drain, another app, possibly gosms may be using it, and causing mapservicesamsung to restart.
