Daaaamn looks very sad what the world is turning into these days all people care about is making money and not the quality of what they are creating...

Quantity over quality :/

Does Hollywood only care about making money these days and just pumping out all kinds of garbage if it makes money instead of higher quality genuine products?

Sad times indeed :(

Damn he said that Hollywood doesn't care about making something quality they only care about what makes money not what is unique or special :(

If you go to 2:24 you will see him saying how Hollywood doesn't care about making osmething special or unique anymore :(

It looks like the world has gone to the Turd Side :(

May the poo be with you! :(

I don't know I think he's right buddy :(

I kind of agree with him

I think Disney sent someone to tell him to peddle back on his words and to tell him to keep his ugly mouth shut.

I think he is right I don't like the new movies either they suck and have no real depth and there is nothing new or creative there.

:(

Sell those golden turds boys ... there is no one left that is real any more :(

This - fairly certain it was explained to him they have plenty of force ghosts to use that they didn't NEED him, unless he felt like putting a happy shiny Disney face on things.

I think I am done with Disney in general. They may be the new EMPIRE. (Or knights of ren and stimpy or first order takers or whatever they call themselves these days.)

I am done with Disney anyways, they can flush it all out until get rights to indie movies.. Eh yeah whatever they decided to do, glad I am walking away from that company.

I really think Disney made a mass of the new Star Wars it just sucks it is nothing like the originals that Lucas made :(

It is really bad indeed. :'(

Star Wars - RIP

I saw the first star wars movie a dozen times, probably two dozen and not by choice. Back in 1977 when star wars came out i lived on Sawyers Air Force base in Michigan. The only activity for kids were the pool, park and movie theater. Unlike today's multiplex theaters, The base theater had only three screens.
So opening weekend I got dragged to see it with my sister and her friends. I thought it was pretty cool. The next day we went back and saw it two more times. We left to go have lunch and guess what we did after lunch? That's right we went and saw star wars again and again. After watching it numerous times I started to kind of notice that the movie didn't make sense.
There was the whole empire vs the alliance, something about clones and then there was that Vader robot guy who had been this great hero adored and love but became a galactic super villian, okay what happened with him?
Lets jump to the empire strikes back. Still don't know why the alliance is fighting the empire. From the first film we know Vader and obi wan Kenobi had a history again kind of left hanging in the dark. So we learn from the second film of the father/son thing with Luke and Vader okay where's the mom what happened with her?? Questions, questions questions I had too many of them.
Fast forward to return of Jedi so we learn Luke and Leia are related and also related to Vader. Its again good vs evil with the good guys winning Vader becomes good again end of story
I wasn't happy basically star wars the new hope drops you into the middle of the story leads you along and then wraps everything up with a pretty bow or tries too. There were two many lose ends. of course it would be some twenty odd years before we got the back story with the prequels and finally the end scene with Rogue one was when everything finally made sense or you finally understood the whole story at least it was for me

Watching the interviews, one thing struck me... he has a pretty dour look on his face the whole time. He is 66 years old but doesn't seem to have aged well and his responses seem a little rambling and slightly incoherent. He was never known for an iron clad mental state to begin with but it doesn't seem to have improved.
In regards to the output of the studios: The big money is in epic action packed movies so that is where the resources are concentrated. They deliver what the majority of the audience wants and it makes them money. These days a good, well put together movie that doesn't include action and special effects doesn't make as much money so there are fewer of them. Fast and Furious series comes to mind. Same story each movie yet there is action and effects so it makes a ton of money. You can only partially blame the studios. They only deliver what people are paying for. And they short attention span of the masses clamors for it. I admit that I am a Marvel/DC junkie, as well as other effects laden movies, but I definitely like a movie with a good and original story much better. The movies in my all time top 10 list include movies that were from my childhood and some even before. 12 Angry Men is before my time yet the story is as pertinent today as it was then and it has Zero effects, was done on a low budget, and relies entirely on how the actors portray the story.
They just don't make movies like that anymore for the masses, only a few are made for those with a little higher thinking but since there aren't as many of those there isn't as much incentive to make them. :(

While you do make some very interesting or insightful points I will say he is not off his rocker and h is actually quite right.

The new star wars movies are just visually impressive and lack any deeper or profound meaning.

Luke Skywalker as a character would never want to kill someone in their sleep... he will always try to do the right thing and convert them away from the dark side... Mark Hamill is quite right in his analysis. That is in fact bang on and shows great insight.

Luke Skywalker would never want to kill somebody as that is the path to the dark side.

The new star wars sucks I don't like it - it is nothing like the original series made by Lucas.

He is technically right don't ruin your childhood dreams by watching this new garbage that Disney has made. They took a legendary series and trashed it.

Only a money making machine.

This is why Disney is hating the new marvel comic books (Disney now owns Marvel) because they have gone over board on the politically correct garbage and now nobody wants to buy it so they are now angry it has hurt their sales very badly.

They don't care what garbage they pump out in the drones or what trash they sell as long as it makes money.

Mark Hamill is actually very correct.

I agree with him - George Lucas would have made it so much better I wish he could have kept on making such legendary films :(

Yes I agree there was far too much squealing going on in the new star wars... the force is not with the new star wars!

It's like a Nickleodeon kiddie show... :(

What is the world coming to :/

I mean just look at these characters - they don't even look compelling!

They all look like children that will ask how do I tie my shoe laces or something like that... or put up their hand to ask if they can go to the toilet :(

And the main characters are just well... they just look sooooo salty :/

I wonder what Luke Skywalker thinks of the circa 2000 trilogy. I couldn't sit through any of them, despite Natalie Portman usually being reason enough to sit through the worst movie. Heh.

Anakin and JarJar have to be the most nauseating team in the history of movies lol..

Clone wars, I enjoyed
