Market app no work - "error has occurred. please try again later"

HTC Inspire 4G, Android 2.3.3, HTC Sense 2.1

For many days now, every time I try to go to the Market, I get the following error msg. "An error has occurred. Please try again later." I've tried to run from the home screen, from the apps folder....still nothing. Any ideas?

Hello liminal and welcome to Android Forums. Do you have background data enabled?

Try going to settings/manage apps/ all. Scroll to market. Clear cache and data. Uninstall updates. Now try opening from app drawer. Should be called "Play Market"

Should ask for you to agree to "Terms of Use". Agree. In my case, there was a pre-checked box to receive notifications and info from play market. (Stupidist name ever...)

When I left it checked, I would get force close. Unchecked it worked...
