Marking gps locations

Is there a way that I can use my Droid X to mark and remember locations?
In an emergency, I have to post signs at many street locations. Rather than write them down, it would be easier to use the gps location
Any help would be appreciated

Sorry- new to these things - I am a member of a racing greyhound rescue group and we might have to post 'lost greyhound' signs when one gets loose.
