Help Marshmallow does and does not recognize SD card space

I updated Boost version to android 6.0 from their push.

I have a 32GB SanDisk SD card. Looking in "Storage" the phone recognizes that only "3.52 GB used of 29.71 GB". Hooking phone to PC via USB cable Windows also recognizes the same results.

I was able to move a couple small apps to SD without issue with the normal built into Android method under Storage.

Now when I try to move any apps to SD the progress bar will get up to 90% and then I get the message "Not enough storage space". Really!?! I never had this issue on 5.1.1.

Anyone know what is causing this and how I can make it realize that there is indeed plenty of space on my SD card?

Adoptable storage allows using sd card as internal storage, but LG blocked it in build.prop. Until we get root we're stuck. Then if we do get root and change build.prop you won't be able to read your cards with a pc if you use adoptable storage. Supposedly the adoptable storage is ext4 format and encrypted
 
I'm using Portable Storage and am fine with that. I just can't figure out how it is capping my SD for the "Move to SD" function.

To see if it would help, I "Moved" all apps from SD back to Phone and copied all other data to my PC. Then I reformatted my SD card as Portable Storage (only choice - it gives no options). I then I copied all my data from PC back to SD card. I then started "Moving" the allowable apps to SD. I was able to get all of them except 2. That is when it gave me the dreaded, lying message "Not enough storage space".

So I summed up the MB of the apps that it let me move and came up with approx. 506MB. Apparently that is all the space the phone thinks it has to "Move" apps (out of 32GB). The odd thing is, after that I ran a LG Backup that took 562MB and it saved to the SD card just fine. Go figure. It must be a bug in the stupid "App" app that thinks there is less space than actual. I have no idea where you would report something like this to get it fixed (if they even care).

It's no bug, LG blocked the adoptable storage thereby crippling marshmallow. OS requires the 12-15 % internal storage to function

But I'm not using Adoptable Storage. I am using Portable Storage. Just trying to Move apps (that are movable) to SD that has plenty of space. It limits how much SD space I can Move apps to. It worked fine in Lollipop.

What appears as a BUG to you is simply that portable storage is a different capability now from earlier android OSs. Google never intended portable storage to stand alone. Google intended us to have a choice of sd card formats. One was for adoptable storage, to dedicate your sd card to be extended internal storage, and portable storage, for those with more internal storage (16gigs+)that had apps with lrg data files, i.e. games data files, whatsapp files, or gps maps that could be stored on portable storage. So what appears as a bug to us with the 1gig 8gig phones, is really us getting screwed because LG disabled adoptable storage.
Portable storage works different because it read my 2 partition fat32/ext4 sd as corrupt when it was not. I think the new portable storage locks onto the card the same way adoptable storage does, but can be read externally on a pc. All we need is root, or LG to enable the build.prop and we'll be using MM properly.
They won't re-code MM to use portable storage the way we used to.

P.S. I called both Google and LG last week about this very circumstance. LG said blame Google, and Google said blame LG. go figure
