Maximizing the SD card

If at all possible I want transfer as many apps as possible to my SD card. It seems that several of the apps that i downloaded can't be transferred to the SD card (at least not by using management under settings). Is there some reason why certain Apps can't be transferred? Obviously, I am concerned about eating up too much memory on the phone.

Some developers do not code it to be allowed. There are ways around it most of the time. If you are rooted and willing to drop ~$5 for Titanium Pro then you can move almost any app to the card. it is the method I use and it has worked very well. The only app so far to give me fits was Facebook. It will move, but it no longer allows me to sync my contacts. IMO, it is well worth the small amount of money considering all that the app does.

UK gave the best bet. There are other ways, but require more work. Unfortunately we were short-changed in the user memory department.

Note that System apps cannot and should not be moved. Any app with a widget you use shouldn't be moved either. Also note that some apps seem to be hard coded not to allow you to even force it to move.

You can try Titanium Backup for free on the market. The free version allows you to move apps to the SDCard. There are much more features with the Pro version. If you like the TB, please consider supporting the developer and get the Pro version :)

I've found that Joneidy's Sense-like ROM, http://androidforums.com/optimus-m-all-things-root/323247-rom-theme-sense-rom-optimus-m.html, has done WONDERS in keeping internal memory freed up, even though I haven't done anything different in using A2SD between stock rom and his. Just using Android's app settings, I've moved as many as I could. Looking in TB (free version) it says I still have 150 MB left in internal--used to have even more despite Metro/LG claiming 150 was the max. So in that regard, I'm happy. => For whatever reason, I could only get best ~60 to 70 MB freed up on stock.

Obviously, I am concerned about eating up too much memory on the phone.
How much internal storage are you actually using up? How much do you have free? Have you looked into how much data is using up internal storage (often overlooked)?
