Maximum/Minimum Volume - Poweramp

Beware The Milky Pirate!
Is there anyway to set a maximum or minimum volume with Poweramp?

My main playlist has about 400 tracks with a pretty wide range of genres and the volume of certain tracks can differ massively. Most of the Motown stuff is pretty quiet so if a Nirvana (or anyone else remotely heavy) is played after a Motown tune, I'm deafened until I can turn the volume down (which can be a pain in the proverbials if I'm on my bike and have gloves on).

I've had a look and can't see anyway of levelling off the volume, is it possible?

The feature you're looking for is "Dynamic Normalization" which was requested on PowerAMP support forums in 2011 but still hasn't been added (and barely acknowledged):

It seems they DO have a similar feature called ReplayGain that you may want to try. Maybe PowerAMP will see this thread and decide to finally add the feature. Ya never know!

A common alternative is the "Music Volume EQ" app which has 50M+ downloads and a 4.2 star rating, so it must be good for something:

Thanks.

The ReplayGain function in PowerAmp was pretty pointless. :(

However, your 3rd Party EQ suggestion reminded me I have ViperAudio installed and it transpires that has a limiter which does more or less what I want.

I'd be kinda screwed if I wasn't rooted though.
