I went to enter a friend's birthday into my Galaxy S using the built in calendar. I entered it as starting on her birthday (in 1973) and set it to repeat yearly. I'm given two options; 50 years or "until" (pick a date). If I select 50 years, it ends in 2022. I hope she lives longer than that!
If I choose to enter a specific end date, I can't enter a year beyond 2036 - it rolls over back to 1902.
Similarly, when clicking on "Go to" the maximum year is 2036.
Interestingly, when entering a new repeating event, it still gives me the option of 50 years, which would bring the last occurrence event way past 2036
Is this Google's attempt to avoid the 2038 Unix date bug?
I'm not sure if it's related, but after trying various date combinations, the calendar kept force closing and I had to power off the phone!
