MAXX internal storage amount question

Twosp2

Lurker
I did not see any similar threads. My question is under storage settings it tells me there is a total of 8 gb. I realize some is set aside for the system but does it set aside 8 gb? I know the MAXX is supposed to have 16 gb internal. Am I just missing something?

The phone also has ~2.5GB for application storage.

So that's 10.5 GB right there. The rest is reserved for the OS and webtop.

I was told that this was a "software glitch" that the next update was supposed to fix. On mine the Internal and External both say 8 GB. I have a 16 GB card in it though.

I had the update today and mine still says Total internal storage is 8GB. SD shows as the correct 16GB (=14.88GB).

I just got mine activated today and my Internal Storage says 8GB as well. If it were actually 16GB total, even accounting for the OS, I think it should have more than 8GB available. Mine also says Total Space 8GB and Available Space 8GB. It should say Total Space 16GB and then show what is actually available after taking into account what is being used by the OS. Something is wrong here in my opinion.

8 of the 16gb internal is reserved for apps, system files, updates, and webtop. You have it all, they just set some aside so you don't run into low memory problems like incredible owners had.

I just got of the phone with Motorola they said 3gb for apps 5gb for OS that's why it only shows 8gb under total I told them that was stupid and it should say 16gb under total storage and 8gb under available. Hope this helps everyone :)
