media player widget on lock screen is it possible?

Hi I want to have media player control on lock screen maybea a media player widget. When I have my phone security on and screen turns off and locked I can get to media player control I have to input my password to get to it if there was a media player control then I can just skip too next tracks that would be much helpful

Any ideas or is it even possible?

nice idea .till now i have heard no such thing,this is a good app idea ahare it with a developer

you can add media player icon onto lock screen by going to security --->lock screen options --->shortcuts. But you still have to unlock before using it unless you are using headset.

Download Widgetlocker from the market. It'll allow you to customize your lock screen to your liking as well as add musical widgets. Give it a go!

Use Google Music. The song menu appears on the lock screen.

winamp gives you lockscreen option. but i prefer the cm9's long press volume button to skip track. hopefully we get cm10 soon.

You read my mind! This happens with other media players so should be possible with the stock player

Google music isn't available in the UK
Its actually more than a local music player as it has cloud storage capability.

Search your app tray. It should be called Play Music, not Google Music. May be already installed on your device.

So does Spotify, but they both add their widgets to the android lock screen not the Samsung one, so you still have to swipe the Samsung one away first.

Not if you have music playing. WINAMP player appears instead of the Samsung Lockscreen... you just press on the padlock to bring up your pin keypad... I use it all the time

I must admit I assumed Winamp would be the same...didn't think third party apps were able to access the sammy lock screen.

Winamp, PlayerPro, Jukefox - all appear in the lock screen (even when lock screen password protected). Hopefully Samsung will add it to their player at some point?

Why do you find it amusing? I thinks it works well at creating playlists based on mood\tempo.

Not if your lock screen is PIN protected. You can see the control but unresponsive until you unlock

I got a Samsung Proclaim that surprisingly does a few neat things I haven't seen other phones that do.

One example would be this.

When I have the standard music player playing and the screen shuts off, I can press the button on the side of the phone to light the screen back up, and without even unlocking the screen, there is a few media controls at the top of the screen to control the music (play/pause, previous and next).

I imagine this is exactly what OP is getting at, and I am also curious what all phones can do this (especially the GS3), or a way this could be done on any phone.

EDIT: I just realized that the security lock meant with a code/password, which I hadn't been using up til now. I guess the music control is just when there's no password set. lol

I downloaded n7player. it has its own lockscreen that has the music control on and an unlock button. Its actually quite a neat player and the lock screen works well. Unfortunately it will sit behind any pattern or PIN entry, so you have to do that first to get to it

It is a nice little player though, I kind of prefer it over the stock one.
