Help Media Process has stopped during data transfer

Just transferring stuff from my old phone and keep getting this when copying over images and video folders.

Anyone know what causes it or have a fix?

What are you using to transfer the files? Copying them to your computer via USB (directly to the computer, not through a hub), then copying them to the other phone via USB, shouldn't cause the problem.

Seems to only be happening if an image or video.

So I've zipped, copied over and extracted with astro

Yeah, this happens with my phone all the time :(

I tried using a single USB port on my PC, different ports, using a hub............all kinds of ways. Just keeps stopping. Oh well.................now I find some spare time and just Bluetooth everything.

Have no idea but it is kinda irritating.

Haven't tried the ZIP route..............will give it a try next time :)

It took a gig zip file and extracted no problems.

Crashed after 5 files less than 10mb everytime. Even 1 at a time it crashed every few files.

Had the same with my first N5. Strangely its fine for the new one, same PC etc (windows 7).

Ended up using AirDroid for the first phone. A bit slower but worked a treat.

Try uninstalling the drivers on your PC then connecting the phone again.

Do you get this using one of the media transfer options on the pop-up that shows up when you first plug into Windows? I'm just curious. I never use those options, I just close the dialog box, open windows explorer and have no trouble copying files back and forth from Nexus 5 > Internal Memory > whatever folder and my computer.

I *will* sometimes get a message when I transfer media this way to the Nexus 5 that it might not be usable by the device I am transferring to, do I want to transfer anyway? I always say yes and never have any problems later with playing/viewing the media.
