Media Scanner

Is there a way to prevent/stop media scanner from cataloging specific files or folders? I'd like to store some work related pictures and videos on the SD card but not have them come up in my "Gallery". I'm trying to keep my personal files separate from my work files but the media scanner seems to go through every folder on the SD card and display everything in the "Gallery". I'm very new to Android, picked up and Epic on release day after working with a Pre for the past year, so I'm still learning.

You can put a file into a folder to omit the folder from being cataloged for any media. I think the file is called .nomedia I think. Search for it and you should be able to find what you need.
