Media sharing xbox 360 to media player 11

Hi all

I cant seem to share media between my pc and 360 even though I am following all instructions. I am using XP and WMP 11 and upto date 360 software.

I can see the 360 in sharing in media player with a green tick. I am following the instrucions on the 360 which is giving me a code for media center. I do not have media center so have nowhere to put the code.

I have also disabled firewall on PC

Please help

I also had problems, ended up using TVersity in the end. You would think Microsoft would do a better job of media playback considering they want the console to be a home entertainment system.

Yea tversity is the way to go. I used to NOT have to use it as i could stream natively. Now i need to use tversity all of a sudden... weird but tversity works like a champ. Still cant get anything HD to stream with it though....

DO you know how to set up android with it?

There is a way to access your tversity server over the internet though i never tried it over my phone... i googled it and only thing i found talking about it was a thread over at droidforums...... still wasn't very helpful though

I'm way behind the curve with this kind of thing, I called xbox live and they walked me through the whole thing! I told them I wanted to stream movies from my PC to the 360, they asked a few questions, they gave me step by step instructions. I'm now able to watch movies anywhere I have an xbox hooked in to the router, I'm getting a newer xbox (the wireless) in a the next few days so I can go everywhere in my home and watch what ever I have on the PC.

Hope this helps...

I think it is an OS issue. I could never get XP to work. Win7 worked for me in a matter of seconds. The PS3 is a different story. I use tversity for that one...

Me too and lately that hasn't been working very well either. Data corrupt issues and cinavia issues, not to mention I just wifi with ps3 and it skips and freezes constantly now.

cinavia issues

Ok, I can tell you what the cinavia is... it's actually copy protection. It's an audio watermark that is placed into movies. AFAIK, this is only used in theaters (to try and thwart the use of people being able to enjoy a movie pirated using a camera), but it could be wrong.

So, if you are getting Cinavia issues, the PS3 is actually working as intended. :o

Well the other issues aren't intentional.... and this isn't a camera copy of a movie but rather a r5.(not that that makes a difference, its still pirated)
Can't complain much about that of course but the other issues are getting annoying as hell.
